Base Cap

A base cap is a decorative wood profile applied to the top of a baseboard to create an attractive, elegant look.

Panel moulding is a raised trim that is installed directly on walls to create a three-dimensional look. Base cap goes on top of baseboard mouldings for a complex, layered trim. These two types of mouldings can sometimes be used interchangeably.
